Whether you’re attending solo or with your spouse and/or kids, we believe this retreat will be a time to recharge, reconnect, and rediscover the wonder of ministry life.
This year’s speaker is Peter Ahn, lead pastor of Metro Community Church in Leonia, NJ, and author of The Weak Church. Peter planted Metro out of a vision he had as a seminary student at Fuller, and the church has grown into a community known for refusing to fake it, staff and members alike.
The Weak Church takes direct aim at the assumptions most of us have absorbed about what a healthy church looks like: bigger, stronger, more impressive. Peter argues the opposite: that Paul’s word to the Corinthians, “my power is made perfect in weakness,” isn’t just a comfort verse; it’s a ministry philosophy. He’s especially concerned with what’s driving Gen Z out of the church and makes the case that authentic, weak community will do more to hold them than another growth strategy will.
